How should we dressup for Church?

"It is plain that God wants most of our flesh covered..The Bible informs us that Adam and Eve had on no covering, and after they sinned, they were ashamed. I don’t think they were ashamed together, but they were afraid that God would see them, for they hid together from God. We are told to dress modestly (I Timothy 2:9).One of the most obvious ways we can obey that command is to look differently from the world.

The serious Christian will not follow the fashions of the sinful world. God has said, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” (II Corinthians 6:17).
The Bible clearly states that we are to show reverence to God and to the things that represent His person and presence. Since the church is the house of God Our dressing be modest in the sanctuary and should always be respectful and reverent towards God

Jonah 3:5 Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least of them.
2 Kings 1:1 And when King Hezekiah heard it, he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth and entered the house of the LORD.
Rev 11:3 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.
Jeremiah 6:26 O daughter of my people, put on sackcloth and roll in ashes; Mourn as for an only son, A lamentation most bitter. For suddenly the destroyer Will come upon us.
Daniel 9:3 So I gave my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes.
Luke 10:13 Woe to you , Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles had been performed in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
The previous verses describe how people in the past dressed to please the Lord. They dressed in sackcloth to humble themselves before the Lord. Sackcloth is dark goat hair used in making sacks, and worn in times of mourning.

I Peter 3:3-4 says "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit
1 Thes 4:1-5 ‘Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God.’
The following are Bible verses have to do with those who dress up to impress other people.
Mark 12:38 In His teaching He was saying:"Beware of the scribes who like to walk around in long robes, and like respectful greetings in the market places,
Matt 23:5 But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments.

“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” (Proverbs 31:30)
“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.” (I Timothy 2:9-10)
“Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” (Titus 2:12)

Those whose hearts are inclined toward God will make every effort to dress modestly, decently, and appropriately. Those whose hearts are included toward self will dress in a manner designed to draw attention to themselves with little or no regard for the consequences to themselves or others.
Further, by dressing in an immodest fashion, displaying her body for men to lust after, she causes her brothers in Christ to sin, something condemned by God (Matthew 5:27-29). If a woman’s heart is inclined toward godliness, she will wear clothing that is neither provocative nor revealing in public.
Now let us look at God’s attitude towards nakedness as expressed in the Bible.
Exodus 32:25And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies.
The Lord said that nakedness is shameful.

Exodus 20:26Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
If nakedness was not an area of great concern to the Lord, then He would not have given the issue so much attention. He made sure to cover all avenues to ensure that the nakedness of His people would not be exposed.
Isaiah 20:4So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
Again the word shame is used…
Genesis 9:22-25, tells the story of Noah and his sons, and how he cursed Canaan because he saw him naked.
Leviticus 18:7-20
Speaks about uncovering the nakedness of someone that is not your wife or husband, God said to do so is wickedness.
God’s feelings on the subject of nakedness in the Bible are consistent. Nakedness is an abomination.

Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
In Proverbs 7:10 and it reads - "And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtle of heart."

"Mini-clothes are symbolic of those girls who want to seduce a man..." Conversely, formfitting dresses, gauchos and pants, and various forms of nakedness as "swim suits," shorts, sun suits, bare chests, slit skirts, mini skirts, unbuttoned shirts and blouses, etc., send a message about wrong inner character. Why would anyone professing Christ appear in a state of dress that Scripture associates with a fallen nature, drunkenness, demon possession, debauchery, degradation, idolatry, loose morals, being a prisoner, being carnal and shameful?" The devil, the fashion designer of this world and he is trying to strip us of every thread of dignity and most of us have allowed him to do just that. We should therefore promote covering, for it was pleasing to God and not little coverings that would possibly lead to support nudity that is in favor for the devil. The shorter the coverings the nearer it promotes the fashion of the devil.
John 21:7Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
When Jesus met Peter he was naked, but after a relationship was established with Christ, he was clothed from head to foot with the rode of Christ’s righteousness.

Luke 8:27-3527 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
28 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

When the man who was possessed with devils met Jesus, he was naked. But after an encounter with Jesus, the Bible said that the man was clothed and in his right mind. Amen.
We love to wear the name Christian, we want to be called by his name, but that is it. Many are saying by rebelling against the spoken word, "You don't tell me what to do Lord. I will wear what I want, I will wear what I feel comfortable in." The women of this world, both Christians and non-Christians a like are allowing the perverted corrupted minds of this age to undress them. Our priority as a Christian is the biblical not the cultural. "...blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world" (Ph 2:15)

Godly men and women should conduct themselves in purity and humility—this includes how they dress. That is what God demands.

None That Are Righteous?

There are some lukewarm Christians who defend themselves by saying “There is no one righteous, not even one” in Romans 3:10 .Here Paul was not referring to the follower of Christ, but all wicked people if they are Jew or Gentile, even the fool, who doesn’t even think there is a God. We must considered “righteous” in God’s sight and not righteous in our own sight, if we do consider righteous in our own sight it is considered unrighteous before God. A true righteous person is the one who is obedient to God’s laws, his commandments, who truly Repent from sin in his wrong thoughts, words, and actions and who has stronger Faith in God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son, our Saviour.

1) There are righteous People: A true righteous person rejoice in Christ, loves Christ, obeyes God and Christ, walks Honestly In the Spirit, Worthy of the Lord, Striving for the faith, Abstaining from all appearance of evil., Putting away all sin, Perfecting holiness, Showing a good example, Shunning the wicked, devoting themselves for god and choosing to live right in Gods eyes.

Romans 3:10 but they ignore other numerous examples of verses of actual named people who were righteous.

You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed. (1 Th 2:10)

This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God. (Gen 6:9)

Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. (Mat 1:19)

Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. (Luke 2:25)

And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. (Mat 23:35)

And if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard) (2 Pet 2:7,8)

Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? (James 2:21)

1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness;

Philippians 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Romans 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works.

2) Self righteous is hateful to God: Self righteous people Are pure in their own eyes makes up their OWN LAWS, and ignore the laws of God, they are boastful, Unprofitable, their RIGHTEOUSNESS IS external or partial, they justify themselves and before men, they Reject the righteousness of God, Proclaim their own goodness

Luke 16:15 :He said to them, "You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts. What is highly valued among men is detestable in God's sight.

Matthew 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

Luke 11:42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Luke 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

Proverbs 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

Matthew 23:27-28 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

According to these Scriptures, Noah, Joseph, Simeon, Abel, Zechariah, Lot and Abraham are all clearly cited as being righteous. For the Word of God reveals that God has always had his saints. He has always had a people that feared him, loved him, and kept his commandments. He has always had a people that did not break his commandments daily in thought, word, and deed: There was Job, of whom God said, "A perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil." There was Enoch who "walked with God" and "was not, for God took him." There was Zacharias and Elizabeth who "were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless." There was John the Baptist who was filled with the Holy Ghost from his mother's womb. There was Joseph who was sold into Egypt, but who loved his brethren who sold him into Egypt, and kept himself pure in the matter of Potiphar's wife. There was Daniel who was taken captive to Babylon, and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and all the holy prophets and holy apostles, and all the saints of both the Old and New Testaments. The Bible clearly teaches that God's people can and do live without sin. Christians can claim God’s perfection only through Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). As long as our eyes stay focused on God and our savior Jesus Christ, we cannot go wrong. We must be as perfect as our Heavenly Father! (Matt. 5:48).Christians are perfect only through the one sacrifice that Jesus made. Scripture says this very clear:

"Because by one sacrifice he has MADE PERFECT FOREVER those who are being made holy." Hebrews 10:14

3) Righteous will live because of his faith: The righteousness which God requires is a righteousness that is based in faith, in believing on the Son of God and what He did at the cross for man's salvation.

For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Rom 1:17)

Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, “The righteous will live by faith.” (Gal 3:11)

But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him. (Heb 10:38)

See, he is puffed up; his desires are not upright—but the righteous will live by his faith (Hab 2:4)

4) We need to be good, holy and righteous for the Lord and God rewards for that:

”In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.” (1 John 3:10)

“In the way of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death.” (Proverbs 12:28)

“But to him who sows righteousness will be a sure reward. As righteousness leads to life, so he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death.” (Proverbs 11:18-19)

Thus says the Lord: “Keep justice, and do righteousness … blessed is the man who does this … and keeps his hand from doing any evil.” (Isaiah 56:1-2)

“The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but He loves him who follows righteousness.” (Proverbs 15:9)

“The labor of the righteous leads to life, the wages of the wicked to sin. He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, but he who refuses reproof goes astray.” (Proverbs 10:16-17)

“To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.” (Proverbs 21:3)

“The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.” (Proverbs 20:7)

“When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Better is a little with righteousness, than vast revenues without justice.” (Proverbs 16:7-8)

“Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God.” (1 Corinthians 15:33-34)

“All unrighteousness is sin …” (1 John 5:17)

“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, reprove the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.” (Isaiah 1:16-17)

“Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn away from it and pass on … But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.” (Proverbs 4:14-19)

“It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness, for a throne is established by righteousness.” (Proverbs 16:12)

5) The Bible teaches that the believers and saints can live without sin. The fear of God restrains us from sin.
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. I John 5:4

Thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matt. 1:21

WeKnow that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. I John 5:18

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. I John 3:6.

Sin shall not have dominion over you; for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Rom. 6:14

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Jude 24, 25

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. Romans 5:14

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. I John 3:9

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. Romans 6:18

And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. Exodus 20:20

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. Psalms 4:4

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil. Proverbs 16:6

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Acts 26:18

6. Man can be Righteousness and perfect: The following verses proves that we can live perfect and Right.

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. 2 Samuel 22:33

Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:48

If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." Matthew 19:21

Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ' This is what the Sovereign LORD says: " ' You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. Ezekiel 28:12

But when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 1 Corinthians 13:10

Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. Corinthians 13:11

Because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. Hebrews 10:14

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.2 Timothy 3:16-17

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:14

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 1 Peter 5:10

For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it. Proverbs 2:21

You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness Rom. 6:18

The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. Isaiah 32:17

7. Self righteous are Counterfeit Christians: Self righteous people don’t genuinely hate sin, they look saved, talks saved, act liked saved, but they are not saved and aren’t truly sorry for any sin; they’re merely sorry because God is going to punish them and rarely share their faith with their neighbors, coworkers, or friends. They do not want to be rejected, nor do they want to make people uncomfortable by talking about private issues like religion. They do not rebuke or correct the sinner, infact they justify themselves by saying we are all sinners, they compromise with the worldly standards ,they say we are living right according to our heart or our feelings, we are created differently, has different cultures and hence has different opinions, thereby ignoring Gods opinion and Gods ways and Gods culture. Matthew 10:32-33.

Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men ' s bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. ( Matthew 23:27-28)

8) Aim perfect, be Perfect: Some men always defend themselves by saying “I am not perfect ‘ and they deny to aim for perfection. Jesus took your sins upon himself so that we can be perfect in God ' s eyes. Every person is to develop God ' s righteous character as in "perfect" themselves to be more like God. Look here what the bible says about perfection?

These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. Genesis 6:9

Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day. 1 Kings 8:61

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. Job 1:1

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. 2 Samuel 22:33, Psalm 18:32.

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Job 1:8

Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers: Job 8:20

Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. Psalm 101:6

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. Proverbs 2:21

The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. Proverbs 11:5

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: " ' You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. Ezekiel 28:12

Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:48

I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. 1 Corinthians 1:10
But when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 1 Corinthians 13:10

For by one offering He has Perfected for all time those who are sanctified" Hebrews 10:12, 14

Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. 2 Corinthians 7:1

But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days. 2 Chronicles 15:17
Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. 2 Corinthians 13:11

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Philippians 3:12

We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. Colossians 1:28

And, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him. Hebrews 5:9

Because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. Hebrews 10:14

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check. James 3:2

And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. Luke 8:14

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Colossians 1:28

That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:17

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 1 Peter 5:10.
